The Delaware bar exam tests the following MBE and Delaware essay subjects:

Application Filing Deadlines and Fees

Filing Deadline: April 1
Late Filing Deadline: May 1

Application Fees
Non-attorneys: $700 ($1400 for late filing)
Attorneys: $800 ($1600 for late filing)
Laptop Fee: $100

Scoring and Grading

A passing score on the Delaware bar exam is 145 on a 200-point scale, which is based on a combined scores of the MBE, the Delaware essay questions, and the Delaware Performance Test. The essay questions and Multistate Performance Test are weighted together at 60% and the MBE is weighted 40%.

Bar Exam Dates

The Delaware bar exam is administered once each year in July.

Bar Exam Results

Delaware bar exam results are typically released within 11 weeks of the exam.

Bar Exam Format

The Delaware Bar Exam is two and a half days. Monday is a full day consisting  Tuesday is a half day consisting of the MPT. Wednesday is a fully day consisting of the MBE. On Monday and Wednesday, the exam schedule is 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Tuesday, the exam schedule is 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Monday
The Monday exam schedule is 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and consists of 8 Delaware essay questions.

Tuesday
On Tuesday, the exam schedule is 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and consists of the Multistate Performance Test.

Wednesday
The Wednesday exam schedule is 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and consists of 100 MBE questions in the morning and 100 MBE questions during the afternoon.

Reciprocity

The Delaware Bar does not allow admission by motion based on reciprocity.
